Dear Parishoners and Guests,
"Lift up your hearts – W górę serca – Sursum corda”; these are words directed by the priest to the congregation, immediately before the preface at Mass.
With these words, we are invited to stand aright, lift our sagging shoulders, set aside distractions, and prepare ourselves for an encounter with the divine realities. These divine realities are not impersonal energies or forces. The Divinity has come to us in Humanity, God has come to us as Man. Jesus Christ is a person, and He re-establishes the broken relationship that we have had with God the Father. This was His desire at the first Christmas – and it remains His desire at every Christmas. At Christmas we are once again asked to trust, trust that Divine Providence has our sanctification and life in mind. Our Lady also trusted, and is now invoked by her most holy name - “The Mother of God”.
On behalf of Fr. Joseph Hattie O.M.I., Br. Grzegorz Loska O.M.I., Deacons Chabot, McDonald & Probert, the parish staff, and the Sacred Heart League, I would like to extend to all of you Christmas greetings of peace, joy, and communion in the Lord.
May Jesus, Mary, and Joseph assist us,
Fr. Pawel Ratajczak O.M.I.
Pastor
