The Gospel for this 19th Sunday of Ordinary Time brings to us the account of the storm, Jesus walking on the waves, and St. Peter attempting to do the same.
In our Gospel for the 18th Sunday of Ordinary Time we heard of Jesus’ multiplication of the loaves and fishes.
In our first reading, King Solomon asks for wisdom from God, specifically in order to distinguish, discern between good and evil.
Last Sunday, we listened to the Parable of the Sower. It was the sower who scattered the good seed on the road, on the rocky ground, and finally, on good, fertile earth. On this, the 16th Sunday of Ordinary Time, the Lord brings us another parable, the Parable of the Wheat and the Weeds.
On this, the 15th Sunday of Ordinary Time, the Gospel brings to us the great Parable of the Sower.
In the Gospel for this 14th Sunday of Ordinary Time, we hear of revelation – the revelation of the things of God to “infants”, and the revelation of the Father by the Son, to people chosen by the Son.
