On this first Sunday of Lent, I would like to give you some perspectives on the Lord’s temptations in the desert, and relate them to our own life of prayer.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, this Sunday’s readings speak to us about the importance of our hearts.
In the Gospel we have these words: “Jesus said to his disciples: ‘I say to you that listen: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you’”.
This Sunday’s Liturgy of the Word gives us words of comfort, and challenge.
"Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man”. The cry of Simon Peter, heard in today’s Gospel, echoes through the ages, and reflects upon that doubt that many, if not most, carry in their hearts.
Today is the 4th Sunday in Ordinary Time. The theme of prophecy and love, prophecy and charity, is present in our readings.
