Today we observe the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, which officially ends the Christmas season in the liturgy. We reflect on how God desires to comfort His people, and how we can refresh the grace of our own baptism in us.
Epiphany – the manifestation, the revelation, the putting into light of Jesus the Messiah; the solemnity of the Epiphany is similar to our Catholic enlightenment – we have been enlightened by the Child.
We begin this new year, Anno Domini 2022, with the most Holy Mother of God, ever-Virgin, and we consider once again the Incarnation, the coming in the flesh, of God himself.
The family generally gets good press: in stores, there is an entire section of beautiful wooden signs, many of them have to do with home and family. How should a Christian family act?
There are three main themes that I’d like to ponder with you this Christmas: God who works discretely, subtly; the change of heart that Christmas makes possible; and the great Mother of God.
This Sunday’s readings speak to us about the body.
